Kaden's Baptism June 4, 2011

What a beautiful celebration. The first of our children to enter the waters of baptism. Kaden was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on June 4, 2011. He was baptized by his father, Branden, and confirmed by his Grandpa Kirk. It was a very special event. Something Kaden has looked forward to for a long time. We made this an extra special occasion for him. Taking him shopping for a new, handsome suit and tie, and having his picture taken for his invitations to family and friends. He also got to pick out a brand new scripture quad and scripture bag. Since then, he has been reading and marking his scriptures every day. On the day of his baptism, our primary presidency allowed us to plan a beautiful program. Kaden's grandma Pam gave a beautiful talk, and Kaden got to play "Book of Mormon Stories," and did a fabulous job. Saige Pope, in our ward, who is Kaden's age, also was baptized and split the program with us. Her family also participated, and did an amazing job. The spirit was strong, and it was a very special day for both kids, one neither of them will forget. Also in attendance, was Kaden's piano teacher, Marilyn Mitchell, and his buddies, Austin Hallowes and Tyler Beckstrand. After the program at the church, we headed back to our house for a picnic lunch in our backyard. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies, and warm weather. Out waterfall was running, and we had a table with an umbrella over it, that we sat down and relaxed under. The kids jumped on our trampoline, and played lawn games. The entire family was having a blast, cousins, friends, and all. Our flowers were in full bloom, and the yard was beautiful. When the day was over, Kaden said, "Was all of this for me?" He truly felt special. As a mom, I want my kids to remember the special times in their lives. We make a big deal of every special event. Branden and I are very blessed to have such sweet children, and a wonderful extended family.
